Seatbelt blitz catches 40
A POLICE blitz on motorists and passengers failing to wear seatbelts saw more than 40 caught in a single day in Lothian and Borders.
The crackdown was part of a 24-hour "day of action" across the country.
Seven motorists were also caught speeding in the area.
Chief Superintendent Charlie Common said: "It is regrettable that I am again highlighting to motorists that they are showing a complete disregard for their own safety and that of others."
