Search for relatives of dead man

POLICE are appealing for help in tracing any relatives of a man who was found dead in his home in the Capital.

Alan McFarlane, 61, was found dead in Eyre Place on Tuesday, May 10.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and a report has now been sent to the procurator fiscal.

Mr McFarlane last spoke to anyone by phone on April 30. Police are still working to establish when he passed away.

He is believed to have been born and raised in Edinburgh, and was known as a keen photographer. He may have owned record shops in the New Town area.

He never married and had no children.

A police spokesman said: "We are appealing for help in tracing any relatives of Mr McFarlane's, and anyone with any information that can help should contact police on 0131-311 3131."
