Scottish Seabird Centre marks 10th birthday

THE candles are being lit for a top Lothian visitor attraction celebrating its 10th birthday today.

The Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick has gone from strength-to-strength since is was opened in 2000.

More than 295,000 visitors have passed through its doors and the centre has contributed about 2 million a year to the local economy. To date it has scooped 25 awards, including the Queen's Award for Enterprise, and its website even recorded one million hits last year.
