The First Minister made a private visit to the Bataclan concert hall, where 89 people lost their lives in the attack on November 13.

Ms Sturgeon, who is in the French capital to attend the UN climate change summit, laid flowers outside the venue as she paid her respects to all 130 victims of the atrocity.

The First Minister told BBC Radio Scotland’s Good Morning Scotland that the “array of flowers around the Bataclan, across the road, is deeply, deeply moving”.

She stated: “It’s impossible for us to imagine the horror that unfolded in there that night but the way that the city of Paris has come together has been very impressive indeed.

“I was glad on behalf of Scotland to lay some flowers and pay my respects this morning.”
