Scottish Fire and Rescue Service warns of higher fire risk as waste collection reduces during Covid-19 lockdown
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has launched a new video to warn Scots of the higher fire risk associated with a reduction in waste collection during the coronavirus lockdown.
The clip says fire risk for households and businesses will increase as the frequency of services is cut during the pandemic.
The video outlines the simple steps to minimise risk for you, your family, staff and property.

It says most rubbish fires are started deliberately and that it’s up to dutyholders to ensure essential businesses are safe by managing and storing waste properly.
The warning concludes by saying that, if a fire breaks out, then you should “get out, stay out and call 999.”
The video was shared on twitter on Friday morning by the SFRS.
