Bridges posted a photo of the pair together on his Twitter page following Murray’s match yesterday against Nick Kyrgios - and it has been viewed and reposted by thousands across the world.

The two-time grand tennis slam winner is a well-known lover of comedy and arranged tickets for the Glaswegian comic to see his match on centre court.

In 2013, Murray revealed that he watched reruns of Bridges’ comedy before a big match at Wimbledon that year.

Whilst some might expect the tennis star to be studying his opponent or getting an early night, Murray chose to unwind with some comedy.

It certainly worked as Murray went on to defeat Russian, Mikhail Youzhny, in the fourth round before going on to become the first Brit in over 70 years to win the event.
