Scots rugby star reported over Glasgow assault

SCOTLAND rugby internationalist Ryan Wilson is the subject of a report to the procurator-fiscal following an alleged assault in Glasgow city centre, police said yesterday.

The report follows an alleged early-morning attack in which another player suffered a broken eye socket.

Ally Maclay, 29, was treated at Glasgow’s Western Infirmary following the alleged incident at a fast-food shop in the city’s Great Western Road last month.

Three Scotland internationalists – including Wilson, 24, and one national sevens squad man – were at the centre of a police probe.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A 24-year-old man is the subject of a report to the procurator-fiscal as the result of an alleged serious assault and an assault.”

Glasgow Warriors forward Wilson is currently sidelined by a shoulder injury.
