Scots part of the furniture at exhibition

Furniture makers from the Capital are heading to London to take part in a major exhibition.

Textiles Scotland and the Scottish Furniture Makers Association SFMA have joined forces to host the Scottish Furniture and Interiors Exhibition, to showcase cutting-edge products and design.

It will be one of many events held as part of Clerkenwell Design Week.

City firms Angus & Mack Ltd, BIRKY Design, Charlotte James Edinburgh, Jonathan Lassen and Tobi will present their work alongside internationally-recognised Scottish brands such as Timorous Beasties, Begg Scotland, and John Galvin Design.

Daren Newton, co-founder of Clerkenwell Design Week, said: “This year will feature all the elements you would expect from a festival, including exhibitions, installations, street entertainment, music, food, parties and receptions.

“It is an ideal opportunity for the creative design community to meet new and existing clients in a relaxed yet inspiring environment.”

Last year 24,000 people flocked to Clerkenwell.
