Scots missing in Chile quake

A SCOTTISH couple on surfing holiday in Chile are missing following the devastating earthquake that has killed more than 700 people.

Dave Sandercock, 25, from Edinburgh, and his girlfriend Kirsty Duff, from Aberdeenshire, arrived in Chile – described as in a "state of catastrophe" – three weeks ago. They have not been in contact with their families since the magnitude 8.8 quake hit on Saturday.

Family members and friends have launched an internet campaign to track down Mr Sandercock, who they hope cannot contact his loved ones because wires of communication are down.

His sister, Ellie Sandercock appealed on social networking website Twitter for anybody with any information to get in touch.
