Scots join in cuts protest

MORE than 1000 Scottish students and lecturers are expected to join protesters from across the UK in London tomorrow to demonstrate against spending cuts and tuition fees.

Cuts of up to 80 per cent in funding for university teaching will be passed on to to Scotland, and tuition fees of up to 9000 will plunge thousands of Scottish students studying in the rest of the UK into debt of up to 40,000.
