Scots in line for cheaper broadband

Rural areas of Scotland could be set for cheaper broadband following new rules reducing the amount BT can charge for its wholesale service.

Communications regulator Ofcom said it had proposed cutting the prices - up to 14.75 per cent below inflation - BT can charge in parts of the country where it is the sole provider of wholesale broadband services.
