ScotRail sees penalties fall

TRAIN operator ScotRail has been fined nearly half a million pounds following the annual review of the country's railway.

Despite the fines, the company saw the level of penalties fall 43 per cent on the previous year in the Transport Scotland audit.

The SQUIRE (Service Quality Incentive Regime) system monitors services and facilities at stations and on trains.
