Scotland-wide speed camera locations revealed

Safety Camera Partnerships around the country have released the locations of where their mobile camera vans will be over the course of the week.

A spokesman for Fife Safety Camera Partnership said: “All our camera sites have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles.

“We may from time to time use mobile cameras at other sites where both vehicle and road users are at greater risk, such as roadworks.”

A North East Safety Camera Partnership spokesman said: “Please note that deployment may change due to operational circumstances and additional enforcement may be carried out at exception sites throughout the region.”

A Tayside Safety Camera Partnership spokeswoman said: “The deployment schedule may change according to operational priorities and road and weather conditions.”

Central Scotland Safety Camera Partnership manager Neil MacSporran said: “Speed limits vary depending on the size of vehicle you are driving and the type of road you are travelling on. The speed limit for a car on a single carriageway is 60mph but do you know what the speed limit is if you are in a van or if you are towing? If you are unsure of the speed limit always check The Highway Code.”

No list has been produced for the Strathclyde area.
