Scot Evans has neck op after Six Nations clash

SCOTLAND wing Thom Evans has undergone neck surgery after being injured in yesterday's Six Nations clash against Wales at the Millennium Stadium.

The 24-year-old Glasgow player was carried off following a first-half collision and taken to Cardiff's University Hospital.

"His parents are with him," said Scotland head coach Andy Robinson. "I can't say any more and we've just got to wait and see.

"Part of it is that it takes time to settle, but our thoughts are with him."

Scotland team doctor James Robson said last night that Evans was "moving his arms and legs".

Full-back Chris Paterson was also injured in the first-half of his 100th cap – he is the first Scot to reach the milestone – and was also in hospital being checked over for an abdominal problem.
