Science base set to expand

THE boss of an Edinburgh science park is aiming to help launch ten new companies within the next three years.

Mike Capaldi, commercialisation director at Edinburgh's BioQuarter, has set the aim as the centre continues to expand.

In August, the 60 million Scottish Centre for Regenererative Medicine will open, while the new Inglis Building will also open a few months later.

Mr Capaldi said: "We expect to announce four new companies this year and we've begun forging links with large industrial concerns."
