Schools areas may change

MIDLOTHIAN's school catchment areas could be reshuffled.

The council is seeking the views of local residents on proposals to change the catchment areas of Bonnyrigg, Hawthornden, Hopefield, Lasswade, Gorebridge, Stobhill, King's Park and Woodburn Primary schools.

The council believes current boundaries fail to reflect how communities have grown.

Peter Boyes, cabinet member for education and communities, said: "The new boundaries are designed to ensure schools have the student numbers needed."
