School up for green award

EDINBURGH'S Tynecastle High School is in line for a top award for its green energy system.

Heating and hot water for the school's new campus, which opened in January, are provided by surplus heat piped from the nearby North British Distillery.

Now the school has been nominated in this year's Green Energy Awards, run in association with Scottish Power, which take place in September.
