School shuts in Whitburn after heating pipes theft

COPPER worth around £6,000 has been stolen from a school’s heating system, forcing classes to be moved to nearby schools.

The metal was taken from the boiler and heating system of Croftmalloch Primary School in Whitburn, West Lothian between 22 and 25 March.

The school has had to close because the removed piping means there is no water. Repairs are now under way and could take up to three weeks.
