School praised by inspectors

School inspectors have praised pupils and staff at a city primary.

The HMIE inspectors described pupils at Ferryhill Primary as "confident children" who are keen to learn.

They also said the school has "enthusiastic" staff who provide children with a motivating and supportive environment.

Inspectors do not plan to make a follow-up visit to Ferryhill but have asked staff to continue to improve children's progress in reading, writing and mathematics, increase the impact of self-evaluation and continue to improve the impact of senior managers' leadership.
