A PRIMARY school janitor is facing drug charges after police recovered £10,000 of amphetamine during a raid on his home.

• St Ninian's Roman Catholic Primary School

Colin Park was arrested and charged after officers swooped on his home in Restalrig Drive, just yards away from St Ninian's Roman Catholic Primary School where he worked.

The 45-year-old is facing a charge of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug, alongside 37-year-old Corina King, who was also arrested during the police operation.

Park has now been sacked from his job as school janitor in the wake of the raid.

The home backs directly on to the school playground but is a private residence and was not let out to Park as part of his job.

Approximately one kilo of the drug, with an estimated value of 10,000, was seized from the home, along with more than 300 in cash.

A team of officers searched the home during the operation, which took place while youngsters were attending the school next door.

No court dates have yet been set for Park and King.

A city council spokeswoman said it could not comment on the matter while court proceedings were continuing.
