School assault: girls charged

Two teenage girls have been charged by police after a female pupil was allegedly attacked at a secondary school.

The assault on the 13 year-old schoolgirl at Aberdeen's Dyce Academy is alleged to have occurred while the girl was sitting at her desk in a classroom when the two other girls, who are not pupils at the academy, entered the school on Thursday.

Members of staff at the school are also alleged to have been attacked after they went to the aid of the victim.

A spokeswoman for Aberdeen City Council said: "We can confirm there was an incident at Dyce Academy, during which nobody was hurt."
