Scan advice for dentists

GUIDANCE has been issued to dentists on how to use increasingly popular mouth scanners.

Health Protection Scotland said there had been growing concern about the high number of cone beam computed tomography technology being used in practices across the Lothians and the rest of Scotland without enough experience or knowledge.

Advice has now been issued on how to use the machines safely, urging dentists to ensure everyone is fully trained.
