Save cinema bid goes up in smoke

THE campaign to see the former Odeon cinema dedicated to community use held a Film'n'Fireworks event in St Patrick Square on Saturday night.

The event began with an outdoor film screening and ended with 10,000-worth of fireworks, donated by 21cc Fireworks. It was organised to encourage more people to support the campaign to turn the building into a community arts centre, rather than the hotel favoured by owner Duddingston House Properties.
