Sandwood Bay path appeal nets £40k

An appeal to repair the path to one of the world's greatest beaches has raised £40,000.

Wild land charity, the John Muir Trust appealed for help to repair the path to Sandwood Bay in Sutherland.

Sandwood was one of only five UK beauty spots included in a list of the world's top 50 beaches by Travel magazine, coming ahead of more exotic spots in Fiji and Madagascar.
