Salmond hails Housing Expo

THE First Minister yesterday hailed the success of Scotland's first Housing Expo which ends today having passed its visitor target.

The event in Inverness ran throughout August showcasing house designs of the future.

It hoped to attract 30,000 visitors and by Sunday evening the total hit 30,629, including housing professionals from as far afield as Australia.

Alex Salmond said yesterday: "I was hugely impressed by what I saw when I visited the Expo site before it opened to the public and I'm delighted to be able to see many more of the fantastic homes on the completed development."
