Salmond apologises over "schizophrenic" remark

First Minister Alex Salmond has apologised after calling Labour leader Iain Gray "schizophrenic" during a Holyrood exchange.

The SNP leader used the word to describe Labour's stance on council tax during First Minister's Questions. A spokesman for the First Minister later said he will be "more careful" with his language in future. "He meant no disrespect to anyone suffering from a mental illness and apologises," he said.
