Sales decline at John Lewis

THE Edinburgh branch of John Lewis has seen another sales decline – as most of the chain enjoyed double-digit growth.

The St James Centre store saw sales decline by 0.8 per cent in the week to 8 May. Across the UK the average store saw sales growth of 17.2 per cent.

The firm said UK-wide sales had been helped by cool weather during the recent bank holiday weekend, which is "perfect for spring shopping".
