ITS hard to believe this boat was once a life raft from the North Sea oil platform. Proud owner Jeff Doyle has since transformed it into a barge fit to live in.

The secluded bachelor pad could be yours for just £23,000 – so long as you don’t mind living on something that resembles a submarine.

Originally a free-falling lifeboat for the Murdoch oil rig, the shipshape home moored in Bath Marina has been kitted out with a wood-burning stove, plush wooden floors and a flat-screen television.

Mr Boyle said: “I’ve loved living on it. I’m only selling it 
because I’ve bought a great big houseboat with my girlfriend.”
