Sainsbury's in leak scare

Firefighters were called to a chemical leak at a Sainsbury's store in the Capital.

The refrigerator leak took place in the basement of the South St David Street shop just before 9pm on Friday evening.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters had to wear protection suits and breathing apparatus to vent the basement and isolate the power. A cordon was set up to remove the public from the area whilst ventilation took place."

It is thought that the store was closed at the time of the leak. Nobody was injured.
