Sainsbury gives £25m to museum

A TORY peer has made a £25 million donation to the British Museum.

The gift, from Lord Sainsbury, will help fund an extension to the London museum's exhibitions.

A spokeswoman for the museum said: "This donation will be a vital to the museum. It's been talked about and worked (on) for a long period of time.

"There's no doubt it's incredibly generous and it will benefit future generations."
