Safety unit wins award for making justice work

WEST Lothian Community Safety Unit (CSU) was presented with a highly commended award at this year’s Scottish Policing Awards.

The unit was established last year to tackle youth crime, hate crime and vandalism, and is thought to be the first unit of its kind in Scotland.

It is made up of partner agencies, West Lothian Council and Lothian and Borders Police. The award was presented in recognition of policing performance in the category “making justice work”.
