Safety Foundation notes reduction in road casualties

An ESTIMATED 300 deaths and serious injuries have been avoided on the 15 UK roads where safety has improved the most, it was announced today.

In many cases, it has been down to simple improvements, the Road Safety Foundation said. On the 15 roads in question, fatal and serious-injury crashes are down 62 per cent - from 494 in 2004-6 to 190 in 2007-9.
