Safety fears after spate of bus attacks

A SERIES of attacks on buses in Midlothian have led police to issue a safety ­warning.

Officers in Mayfield and Dalkeith received 14 reports of buses being targeted with stones over the past few weeks.

The attacks took place in the evenings, particularly in ­Musselburgh Road, Dalkeith Road and Lauder Road.

No one has been injured as a result of any of these ­incidents.

But Inspector Michelle Ritchie said: “Those ­responsible for these mindless acts are showing no ­consideration for the safety of the bus drivers, passengers or motorists.”
