Safe keeping for charity shop art show

AN UNUSUAL art exhibition has opened in a giant safe beneath the Save the Children designer charity shop in Stockbridge.

The store, launched by TV retail guru Mary Portas in November, is in a former HBOS bank, which still has an enormous vault in the basement.

Members of the art collective, Come to my House, usually stage exhibitions of their work in each others' homes, but decided to take over the safe for a one-off display in the charity shop.

The four collective members have each contributed works to the exhibition.

The display at Mary's Living and Giving Shop for Save the Children in Raeburn Place is open until 7pm today and tomorrow from noon until 7pm.
