“The council has organised business briefings to help to keep them informed: One of the sessions will be held on 11 February at Auchterarder Golf Club and the second on 12 February at McDiarmid Park in Perth”

Councillor Ian Miller, the leader of the council, said: “Representatives from the council’s Business Growth team and VisitScotland will join the briefings to explain how we are supporting businesses. Ryder Cup Europe representatives will share information about the event itself, and their experience of business involvements in previous Ryder Cup competitions. We want as many local business as possible to be able to take part and benefit from the event.”

Antonia Beggs, the operations director of Ryder Cup Europe, said: “There are a wide range of business opportunities at The 2014 Ryder Cup. We want to ensure that local businesses are in the best possible place to take advantage of these. This is a global event, but it is every bit as important to us that local businesses and the local community feel the positive side of welcoming one of the world’s premier sporting events.”
