Runners to step up for 20-mile race

ENDURANCE runners are invited to tackle a 20-mile race along the East Lothian coast next month.

On May 7, the Edinburgh to North Berwick Road Race swings into action at Portobello following the coast to Musselburgh then Dirleton and on to North Berwick with the finish line on Beech Road.

Organised by East Lothian Council in partnership with local clubs, enjoyleisure and Bass Rock Garage, entries are invited in eight categories - from ladies over 18 to men over 60 - along with two team prizes.

Competitors will have to act fast to secure a space with capacity limited to 250 places and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration will take place at Portobello Indoor Bowling Club and competitors will have a short jog to the official start line on Portobello Promenade in time to hear the starter's pistol sound at 11am.
