Mr Kay said: "I have now lost six stones and I'm feeling great. In January I ran the Great Winter Run 5K and in May I ran the Great Edinburgh Run 10K.

"I have now decided to take on the Great North Run. I hope to get down to 13st 4lbs for the event, which will be a total loss of seven stones."
