Rules lead walkers

NEW rules for dog- walking companies in East Lothian have been drawn up, creating a voluntary accreditation scheme.

Guidelines include restrictions on walkers exercising more than six dogs at a time and the possession of a dog first aid kit.

Councillor Ruth Currie said: “The number of professional dog-walking companies has increased in recent years and different standards of care are being offered.”
