Rugby fans warned of travel delays

THE police and the city council have advised anyone travelling through Haymarket tomorrow to plan ahead for travel disruption.

The warning is a result of the Scotland v France Six Nations rugby match which kicks off at 3pm.

More than 67,000 fans will be making their way to and from Murrayfield stadium for the match.

Officials warned travellers to allow extra time if they are travelling via Haymarket as the area will be very busy.

It was also pointed out that tramworks currently in progress will also cause delays.

There will be pedestrian diversions in operation and people are advised to follow instructions from the stewards and police officers.

Road closure information will be available on the city council website.
