Royal Mail misses its target for first class

The Royal Mail missed its target for delivering first-class letters on time because of disruption caused by the volcanic ash cloud, new figures showed.

The postal group said 92.6 per cent of first-class mail arrived on time in the quarter to June, just below its target of 93 per cent.
