Royal guests enjoy tea in the park

Her Majesty the Queen was surrounded by guests as she threw her annual Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse yesterday.

Figures from the worlds of sport, art, medicine and music were among those receiving honours from the Queen.

Scottish singer Dougie Maclean, painter Dr John Lowrie Morrison and medical director of both the Scottish Ambulance Service and NHS 24, Dr George Crooks, were part of the group who met the monarch at the investiture ceremony.
