Royal award for top Guide

AN Armadale student has become the first in her company to achieve the Girls' Brigade's highest award.

Lindsey Patterson, 20, is the first member of 1st Armadale Girls' Brigade to achieve the prestigious Queen's Award.

The award represents years of hard work in volunteering, project work and study.

Lindsey, an Edinburgh University student, said: "The award has included some of the most memorable and challenging experiences of my life."
