Rona shows touch of glass to win specs wearer title

A TEENAGER from West Lothian is in the frame to win a top modelling contract after being named Scottish Spectacle Wearer of the Year.

Rona Leslie from Livingston beat off stiff competition from ten other specs-wearing fashionistas from across Scotland at the semi-final, held in Glasgow yesterday.

The 19-year-old fashion communications student said: “I’ve been wearing my glasses for a few years and I feel very happy and confident in them. I’m thrilled to be going to the final.

“I never thought that being a specs wearer would help me win the chance to model.”

Rona will now strut down the catwalk at the glitzy,
star-studded national final at London’s Battersea Power Station on October 30. TV fashion guru Gok Wan will host the awards ceremony, while a panel of industry experts will judge the contestants.
