Rollers get back together for £120m court battle

THE Bay City Rollers are set to reform in a US courtroom as its members attempt to win up to £120 million in royalties.

The 1970s superstars have only appeared together in public once in the last 20 years.

The five original members - Les McKeown, Stuart Wood, Eric Faulkner and brothers Derek and Alan Longmuir, along with Duncan Faure, who replaced McKeown as lead singer in 1978 - have filed lawsuits claiming their share of the missing cash. The Rollers had a string of hits, including Bye Bye Baby and Shang-a-Lang, but despite the fact that their songs still earn thousands of pounds a year, the members have seen little of the money. The musicians believe they are owed millions by record label Arista.

They claim their contract promised to pay them royalties twice a year, but say a payment of 133,000 in 1997 was the only one they received.
