Rod Stewart minister moves kirk

ROD Stewart's favourite minister has started work at his new church.

The Rev Ian Gilmour was inducted to the city-centre congregation of St Andrew's and St George's West after more than 15 years as minister of South Leith Parish Church.

It was there that Mr Gilmour christened Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster's son Alastair in 2006 before conducting the couple's wedding in Italy the following year.

Mr Gilmour said he would miss Leith, but added: "I'm looking forward to the challenges of the New Town."
