Roadside chain launches service worth a plug

ROADSIDE services chain Little Chef has unveiled plans to install electric car charging points at all of its restaurtants.

Little Chef, in partnership with Scottish & Southern Energy, is to put 126 charging points in its car parks across the UK by February 2012 – including two in Balhaldie, near Dunblane, and another in Dumfries and Gallo-way. The company plans to have one at each of its 162 sites by the end of next year.

The service will be provided free of charge for the first year.

Managing director Tracey Mulligan said: “Our approach to ethical sourcing of our food is absolutely in line with offering electric car charging points.”
