Roads closed as lorry stuck under bridge

A TRUCK caused traffic chaos when it became stuck under a low bridge at Cameron Toll.

The Eddie Stobart lorry, believed to be carrying gardening supplies, became wedged under the railway bridge at Old Dalkeith Road at around 1pm yesterday.

Police closed roads while breakdown workers managed to free the lorry. Network Rail engineers also checked the bridge for structural damage.

Police said they diverted traffic away from the scene, and fortunately no one was injured. The road was reopened at 3:20pm.
