RNLI Eyemouth lifeboat saves disabled fishing boat with 'fouled propeller' in Scottish borders


The 10 metre trawler was fishing around 9 miles north east of Eyemouth when it suffered a fouled propeller and called for assistance.
The UK Coastguard launched the Eyemouth RNLI lifeboat shortly before noon on Monday 22 February in order to assist a trawler with what was reported as a “fouled propeller.”

Hide AdThe lifeboat arrived on scene around 30 minutes later where a line was transferred and the trawler taken under tow back to Eyemouth.
The operation was completed within two and a half hours of the nautical rescue service receiving the call.
A RNLI spokesperson said: “Upon arrival back in port, and with assistance from Eyemouth and Berwick Coastguard teams, the vessel was secured safely.
"With no further assistance required, the lifeboat and its volunteer crew were stood down.”
