RMJM loses another top architect

troubled architecture practice RMJM has lost another of its top designers after Paul Stallan resigned yesterday.

It is understood that Mr Stallan, who joined RMJM in 1995 and is the Design Principal for the Scottish Studio, quit following the sacking of chief architect Alistair Brand. The pair were described by a source as “joined at the hip”, having worked together for some time.

A RMJM spokesman last night confirmed that Mr Stallan had “tendered his resignation which has been accepted”. He said Scottish managing principal Paul Rodgers and his Glasgow team will continue to drive forward projects currently being developed.

Mr Stallan will be regarded as a key loss to the firm. He is a former Architect of the Year and won the Royal Scottish Academy Gold Medal for Architecture, as well as RIBA and RIAS design awards for RMJM buildings. He has worked on the Scottish Parliament, and the Falkirk Wheel.
