Right of reply: We are delivering for levy payers; we will listen and we will learn

Essential Edinburgh continues to deliver good value for our 600 levy payers in the city centre. Our latest annual report showed that we delivered 27 projects, all designed to improve the environment of the BID area, to increase security, tackle retail crime, and to drive footfall.

Our clean team has done fantastic work in augmenting the council's services, in particular through the removal of graffiti, chewing gum, and with their fast response to other spills of rubbish and waste.

We know from positive feedback that the service is very well regarded.

Our ambassadors have dealt with some 100,000 requests for information from the public, as well as providing a valuable contribution in improving security. We have organised or supported events and initiatives designed to promote the area.

In addition, we are working with Destination Edinburgh Marketing Alliance and the city council to promote the city centre.

We accept that we can't please all of the businesses all of the time, but we are keen to engage with all of them and look at how we can provide best value for all of our levy payers.
